New Miss World Zimbabwe Crowned
The Miss World Zimbabwe circus came to finality Friday afternoon with the crowning of the new queen Annie-Grace Mutambu.
Chengetai Kanonhuwa and Anissa Ndiriwani were also crowned as first and second princess respectively.
The crowning and prize giving ceremony took place at the Miss Zimbabwe Trust offices in Highlands.
Mutambu takes over from shamed Emily Kachote who was dethroned in what remains a terrible PR boob by the Trust since there was no evidence of the existence of the alleged nude pictures.
Present was the national patron Kiki Divaris, Trust secretary Terry Bharu, spokesman Tendai Chirau and the families of the newly crowned models.
The trust chairperson Marry Chiwenga was conspicuous in her absence at the important event as she was said to be attending to other business.
The queen and her two princesses were presented with gifts that included 40inch LED televisions, blenders as well as African wear outfits.
Among the prizes was an undisclosed amount of money which the Trust said will be deposited into the winners’ bank accounts.
The queen was also handed keys to a brand new Kia Picanto vehicle which would be used during her reign.
The new Miss World Zimbabwe will also get $10 000 to kick start her Beauty with a Purpose charity project in which she will be assisting Albinos suffering from cancer.
Speaking on behalf of the newly crowned beauties Annie-Grace Mutambu said:
I would like to express my utmost gratitude to the Miss Zim national chairperson Mrs Marry Chiwenga for giving us the opportunity to express our capabilities not only nationally but internationally too.
We will do our best to uphold the standards and be reputable ambassadors.”
Responding to media questions she also said she didn’t have any nude pictures in existence and vowed she had never posed nude.
