Mindblowing Opening To Multichoice Content Showcase
So Multichoice Africa just put together a whole bunch of journalists from all over Africa and threw them into a couple of planes to take them off to paradise.
The first day was all about the tour, while the showcase’s opening event was being readied for those put together.
They went out to make the guests feel like stars, pampered at the Outrigger Beach Resort, one of the most beautiful places in the world methinks.
They even had Hollywood-style stars on the walkway with names of the journalists. As they walked in name would be called out and a bunch of camera people would snap away as you walked into the venue again on the beachfront.
As you enter you got a glass of champagne and an eager person offered you cheese and one would be rude to turn such things down at the edge of the world.
Taking mirror selfies was Big Brother host IK Osakioduwa. He also was the host along with 53 Extra’s Eku Edewor.
Other guests included guests that included Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Desmond Elliot and Ramsey Nuoah.
Then the night started with performances of classic western songs to burst of colour and intrigue on the stage. Awesome stuff that was.
There were gaps for food as a mixture of entertainment and speeches was slipped in here and there at the right time. Can we just say that the beef was an OMG moment? There, said it.
Speeches were by Multichoice Africa CEO Tim Jacobs and M-Net Regional Director West Africa, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu.
We believe television is an extremely powerful tool that can educate, entertain and inform. The evolution of this medium has become fast and furious and as a business we are constantly evolving to stay ahead.
MultiChoice’s business is built around three key pillars: people; content – in the form of great entertainment, news and sport – and the latest cutting-edge technology. Our mission is to ensure that our subscribers do not miss out on any of the stories, events or moments that are shaping our future.
Our first broadcast in 1986 led to other firsts like the launch of SuperSport and the Mzansi Magic, Zambezi Magic, Jango Magic and Africa Magic channels; and with the creation of exciting, genre-defining and iconic content like Carte Blanche and Tinsel, M-Net continues to shape cultures, build bridges and empower talent across Africa even as we remain synonymous with all things entertainment on the continent.
We are launching and redefining channels and we continue to expand our content offerings to viewers across the continent. Our ongoing and significant investments in local productions have positioned Africa on the entertainment global arena and with new technology we continue to reach even more people, ensuring that no one ever misses the M-Net Magic. Our investment drive remains geared not only towards the industries in which we play, but also in the people who power them.
IK then gave us a taste of his show, Highlites as he interviewed Banky W, which included a funny bit on finding the perfect wife, key among which was she must twerk. IK cheekily said that twerking could bring world peace. We can see how that works.
Then Flavour took the stage and performed a couple of songs followed by Ghana’s BET award-winning reggae-dancehall star Stonebwoy.
All in all it was a peachy night, you know that you really sink your grubby teeth into and while at it start some romance with before realising that it has to end but the memory is absolutely mental.
Oh did we tell you that IK may or may not have been seen twerking at the after-party?
