Joyous Celebration Singer Goes Solo
Joyous Celebration singer Dudu Tsobane has gone solo and now released an album called This Season.
She joined Joyous celebration at the age of 21, and has parted ways after 10 years to pursue a solo career..
And that is not all, according to her Zimbabwe representatives Tsobane is due in the country soon.
She did her first lead at Joyous 13 and did her first solos on 14, 15 and 17. Further to that she also did backing vocals with Malaika between 2005 and 2007 to expose herself to a different genre. Tsobane also did work with American RnB superstar Brian McKnight on his tour of South Africa in 2008. In the same year she worked with Donnie McLurkin on his African tour. In 2012 she was a session musician in Hugh Masekela’s recording. Since 2009 she has been working with Afro Jazz star and Mafikizolo lead Theo Kgosinkwe and his band.
I managed to travel the world through my singing and have really gained lots of experience and grown incredibly. That is why I am grounded in this scripture that says “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due SEASON we shall reap, if we faint not”.
Her debut solo album has 12 tracks on it and was released in late June 2014. Producer Siyanqoba Mthethwa worked with her.
