The Human Rights Tattoo Tour will see the team go to such Festivals as Back to the City in Joburg, Music Crossroads Lilongwe and Blantyre Arts festival tattooing people for free.

To create awareness for Human Rights all of the 6773 letters found in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are to be tattooed on 6773 individuals worldwide.

This group of 6773 ambassadors will be united on the website, where every tattooed letter is clickable, so one can see who is behind the letters and why they carry their tattoo.

So much for ingenuity!

The intention, they say is a way of putting your signature under the Declaration of Human Rights.

The only difference being that you are doing it the other way round: A piece of the document is signed on you. You will carry it.

So out of the 30 Declarations which ones are you familiar with? Here is Article 1 for our readers:

“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”

But my favourite is Article 24 hope it won’t be amended!

“Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.”
