Fashion takes on the fight against cancer
The fight against cancer takes centre stage this coming 11 February 2017 in Harare.
Aisha De Beer (Aiish) who is the CEO and founder of both, Aiish Boutique and Fashion Designers Expo Zimbabwe and Raquel Fouche (Events Manager and Zimbabwe agent for Aiish Boutique) are teaming up with Karin Davidson of Top Model Zimbabwe to bring Fashion Fights Cancer Harare.
Realising that there was a need to raise more awareness of Cancer prevention, the organisers set to help those currently fighting the battle of a lifetime. All three of these brave and determined ladies have lost members of their family to this terrible disease and hold the cause, raising to funds and awareness as their priority for 2017. The team involved are advocates for a cause they hold very close to their hearts.
The Harare event comes on the back of a successful one held at Nesbitt Castle in July of 2016 in which all money received was donate to the Cancer Association Bulawayo.
The schedule for the Harare edition involves to events:
- Our Village of Hope will be held at Sam Levys’ village, and we have invited all outlets to participate in either decorating their shop with the FASHION FIGHTS CANCER theme, or to do a pop up shop. This will run from 12pm -4pm. Entry for this is free.
- The red carpet main event will fall under the Fashion Cafe Branding run by Karin Davidson and will be at News Cafe, Borrowdale from 7pm in the evening, 6 designers will be showcasing – including Sean Schoultz (winner of Designer of the evening FDE Zimbabwe 2016), Chenna Nenni, Amy Peters, and more. Top Model Zimbabwe will be providing all the beautiful models, DJs on rotation in an evening of glitz and glamour to raise money for a very, very worthy cause as well as pay a special tribute to the loved ones lost to cancer. A few courageous people who beat it have been invited to come on stage to spread awareness and show that there is Hope to combat this dreadful disease. Tickets for these are $10 each for standard. And $30 for VIP which has drink service and offers “Halaal” snacks.
This event will promote local designers whilst raising funds and awareness for Cancer Association Zimbabwe.
Portion of ticket sales will got towards a charity that aids cancer patients. Deliveries can be made depending on location.
