AUDIO: Comrade Fatso talks #Shoko2017 theme, lineup, Zodwa waBantu and more
We sat down a few days ago with Shoko Festival director Samm ‘Comrade Fatso’ Monro and we asked him about this year’s edition set for Harare as well as Chitungwiza from 29 September to 1 October 2017.
We talked about the lineup which included the Hub Unconference which will see the likes African social media star Xtian Dela, Kenyan satirist Gado, South African MP Zakhele Mbele, Ruth Daniel, Black Lives Matters’ Ashley Yates and 3-mob.com’s Larry Kwirirayi.

As for what he wants you to get from Shoko:
Four our audience we want to give them the best festival possible. On the one hand they can come and be free to be who they want to and express themselves. At the same time, to absolutely immerse itself in the festival and have their minds blown.
The second part is for the artist… bringing up Zim hip hop… comedy… collaborations that result in international tours and beyond
Also announced here is a collabo between UK turntabilist DJ Yoda, Chengeto, Sharky and Dadza D. That should be lit.
