Akala and DJ Surgeon Arrive For Shoko Festival

International Hip-hop sensation Akala (U.K) and Dj Surgeon (U.K) have arrived for the highly anticipated Shoko Spoken Word and Hip-hop Festival to be held in Harare  from the 21st up to the 24th of September.

Akala, is MOBO Award winner and younger brother of Ms Dynamite. His music touches on race, class, sexism, history, war, hip-hop culture and what it is to live in a world one knows to be inherently unequal, yet rounds it all off not with accusations or anger but inward self-analysis.

DJ Surgeon will hold DJ workshops at the Festival.

The festival will be covering a wide range of activities stretching from workshops, debates, conferences and performances by some of the country’s top socially active Spoken Word and Hip-hop artists.
