We are set for a tense 6 months folks after the president declared that elections in Zimbabwe would be held in March 2013.

The president says that the referendum for the new constitution will be held in the first week of November 2012 with the elections themselves set for 31 March 2013.

The declaration comes in President Robert Mugabe’s contesting a court order that demands that he declare by-elections for constituencies that were vacant due to deaths.

The president says that the government does not have the cash to run an election now and another one next year. So he s calling for a harmonized election next March.
