The Venezuelan ambassador to Kenya was on Friday found dead at her official residence in Runda, in the outskirts of the capital, Nairobi.

Police confirmed the incident and said they had launched an investigation into the death. She was found strangled in her home.

She was the acting ambassador and police say they are holding four domestic workers.

The embassy has in the recent past been at loggerheads with some of its employees who allegedly refused to drop sexual harassment complaints against the previous ambassador.
