JOB DONE: Caps United through to Caf Champions League group stage
A resolute performance by Caps United at the National Sports Stadium in Harare sent them through to the group stage of the CAF Champions League after a goalless draw against five-time winners TP Mazembe.
Lloyd Chitembwe got his tactics spot-on knowing that keeping a clean sheet would mean qualification for the first time ever. This was after the 1-1 draw in Lumubashi which had secured them that crucial away goal.
And it was not just a backs to the wall performances. The Green Machine had chances too, one of them a stinging free kick effort from keeper Edmore Sibanda which needed a strong save from the TP Mazembe goalie.
It is a good look for Zimbabwe to find its way back into the premier club competition on the continent. Not since Dynamos did it has the country participated in the group stage of the toutnament.
All the best Makepekepe
