1000 NYPD policemen evicted the Wall Street Occupiers in the early morning of Tuesday. While a court ruling allows them to return to Zuccotti Park they cannot set up any structures there.
In the convoluted American legal system another court had earlier on ruled that the protesters could return to the park with all their tents. There seems there is a lot of confusion over what the protesters could or couldn’t do but by the look of it, it is going to be a legal back and forth.
The person really caught in the middle is Mayor Bloomberg who on one hand sympathizes with the businessmen on Wall Street, yet on the other hand wants to be seen as protecting the provisions of the first amendment. Yet the more and more Bloomberg talks the more he seems to be siding with Wall Street businesses.
